Credit Card Fraud

Asslamu Alaikkum,

This is very important to the credit card holders and who wants to apply for one.
This is real incident happend for software programmer, who is working in Satyam Computers Chennai.
I think it will be helpfull for everybody. This is a FW Mail By a SatyamEmployee .

The real story happend like this.....

"I got a phone call from citi bank asking me to come over to bankto resolve the issue regardingcredit card. I told them that I don't have any credit card till now andeven I didn't apply for any creditcard of citi bank. The person on the phone is Mr.Vikranth. He told me thatthey have all the proofs including my photos on the application, thesignature on the courier slip which I signed etc...I immediatelywent to the bank and enquired with the officials. I got the informationthat some one took a credit cardwith name Rajkumar konki (my actual name is rajkumar konanki), withdesignation "system analyst" andworking for Satyam computers. When I argued that it's not my name, vikranthshowed me his credit cards wherehis name is miss spelt and is different in each card. He used the card andwithdrew/purchased forRs- 1,41,000 /- and didn't pay the money. Now as they started enquiryregarding this and as only my name is nearly matching, they took all thedetails from some of their contact in Satyam computers and called me upfor enquiry. Now if the photo matches there in application, I have to paythis one and half lacks.They don't have the hard copy of the application for that credit card now.I demanded the hard copy of theapplication. Now they are in the process of getting that application. Thereis a chance that there can bemy photos in the application as I have applied for ICICI bank credit cardthrough a broker and I didn'tget the card till now. Even though I am confident that I am no way related to thisissue and I also can prove this,just imagine the mental tension I am having since the last two days. Thismay happen to you also.Be careful while applying for any credit card; don't apply through anybroker/mediator. Apply directlygoing to the bank. Be careful when ever you give your photos, signatures,bank account number, your jobdetails, PAN number, etc...to any one.Hope that this is helpful for you."
